Here at David Thompson, the Community Schools Team (CST) Office is pretty much universally known as a positive place to gain volunteer experience or just hang out. Located on the school’s first floor, the door is always open.
Inside the CST office, you will find comfortable sofas that will heighten its homey environment. You will also see pictures of all your fellow peers on the wall who are enjoying the volunteer experiences the CST has to offer. Students are free to drop in at lunch, break or even after school to see all the wonderful volunteer experiences available. CST volunteers help run after school programs at DT’s elementary feeder schools and there are many different opportunities to choose from including cooking, reading, and sports, just to name a few.
As well as helping you to become a positive community member and to develop a presence in your community, you will also be a positive role model to elementary school-aged students. Really a second home to some students, the CST office is a fun and safe place to hang out with all your friends and get away from pressure. The team at the CST Office is friendly, helpful, and always happy to help when students drop in. You’ll gain countless opportunities to establish yourself as a volunteer and a leader in the community – so come on down to the Community Schools Team Office and check out this hidden gem.
